Halloween in the Berkshires is always a good time with lots of fun, spooktacular events and attractions to attend. One of the season’s most popular local events is the Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show.  Come see the famous Gilded Age country estate awash in jack-o-lanterns, mums, and more! October 1st to the 31st, 2021.

Naumkeag is one of the Berkshires’ original Gilded Age country estates, located here in Stockbridge, MA. In fact, the celebrated architectural masterpiece is just five minutes from the door of our Berkshires bed and breakfast, The Inn at Stockbridge.

Naumkeag is a National Historic Landmark and a spectacular example of the Gilded Age with terraced gardens, landscaped grounds, and a stately, 44-room mansion. Joseph Hodges Choate (1832–1917) had it built in 1885 as a summer estate for his family. Choate was a prominent New York City attorney and ambassador to England.

The Gilded Age estate stayed in the family until 1958, when it was bequeathed to a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Massachusetts’ historical places. Naumkeag opened to the public in 1959 and has been a popular Berkshires attraction ever since.

More than 11,000 visitors enjoy guided tours of the mansion, terraced gardens, and beautifully landscaped grounds every year. Naumkeag is open seasonally, from mid-April to early October, and presents a variety of special events throughout the year.

Naumkeag is always visually arresting but you won’t believe your eyes when you see the famed, Gilded Age estate decked out for Halloween!

Over 1,500 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns, hundreds of mums, and a cornucopia of multi-colored pumpkins and gourds transform the grounds into an amazing, Halloween fantasy land. Come tour the show and enjoy hot cider and other yummy fall treats available for sale on-site.

Parking for the show is at the lower parking lot, located in the Stockbridge Town Cemetery, off Church Street. (GPS coordinates: 42°17’12.6″N 73°19’13.9″W) A shuttle will transport you from the lower lot to the estate grounds. Your ticket provides up to one hour to enjoy the show. The Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show 2021 runs from October 1st to the 31st, Wednesday through Sunday, 4:30pm to 8:00pm. Tickets are available online but are limited and expected to sell out quickly. Get yours before they do!
