It’s that time once again: everyone’s making plans for and heavily anticipating Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival 2022! America’s longest-running international dance festival is back after two disappointing years of cancelled, virtual, and outdoor performances. Come celebrate! June 22 to August 28, 2022.
Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival hosts a wealth of international dance performances, talks, tours, exhibits, workshops, and more every year, right here in the Berkshires. The event was started in the 1930’s by modern dance pioneer Ted Shawn and is named after the farm where it is traditionally held: Jacob’s Pillow. (the farm get its name from a large, pillow shaped rock located on the property)
Jacob’s Pillow is just 20 minutes away from our Berkshires bed and breakfast at 358 George Carter Road in Becket, MA 01223. Relax and enjoy yourself at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, knowing your room at The Inn at Stockbridge is just a short drive away.
Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival 2022
2022 marks the 90th return of the annual festival and the first complete return since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.
This year will see a full season of live performances in both the recently renovated Ted Shawn Theatre and the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage. The festival will also present a variety of community events as well as a selection of virtual events.
The 90th Anniversary will be celebrated in a variety of ways, including 20, one-night-only, events planned for the farm’s outdoor stage. Other highlights include performances by Sara Mearns and Taylor Stanley of the New York City Ballet, and a premiere by choreographer Ronald K. Brown.
Below is a list of this year’s ticketed events. A full list of all Festival performances events is too long to include here. Visit the Jacob’s Pillow website for more information. You can also find the festival on Facebook.
